This program provides professionally guided, activity-based art instruction for students
with special needs to learn and practice social and motor skills in a creative, nurturing
environment. Lead by a teaching artist/social worker in consultation with an occupational
therapist, students can engage in appropriately modified art projects and structured
social interactions with peers.
Our True Colors program follows the same “Around the World” curriculum as Contigo,
where children can learn and participate in art styles from different countries and
cultures. This program emphasizes peer collaboration and cooperative learning with
hands-on art activities that are individually modified for students needs. True
Colors students will embark on an adventure around the world.
True Colors now offers two sections; elementary (1-5) and middle school/high school.
Class fees include all materials and art supplies. The tuition rate reflects a
high staff to student ratio. Twenty-five percent of the proceeds from tuition after
expenses benefits World's Window to help provide educational initiatives for children
in the rural areas of Belize.
